Topeak Road Morph Mini Pump W/Gauge. Alloy Barrel .160 PSI .Silver/Black .

Are you a dedicated cyclist? If you are one of the people who are looking for essential cycling equipment each cyclers should have, then you have come to the right place.

Going around bicycle shops can be quite tough especially if you are looking for important bicycle equipment that you are planning to have with you on your bicycle trips. One of the things that you should search for is a portable pump.

Every cycling enthusiast must have with them a fine portable pump for training rides. But, there are a lot of pumps that are a little bit clunky and not that easy to use. It is for that reason that there are a lot of reviews for different pumps which are available in the market. Among those is the Topeak Road Morph Pump.

The Topeak Road Morph Pump is packed with floor pump efficiency as well as an easy-to-use feature in a compact and portable design which you can bring with you anywhere you want. Aside from that, it prides itself with a clever fold-out foot pad which stabilizes it against the ground instead of your hands. This way, you will have a comfortable and efficient pumping action. Another thing is that the Topeak Road Morph Pump has a flexible air hose that makes it easier to work with especially during tight or awkward valve placements while also assisting in avoiding valve stem damage.

But, it is pretty clear that the Topeak Road Morph Pump is not a mini-pump. In fact, its length is 13.8 inches. The good thing is that, you will be able to mount it on almost all of the frames. Aside from that, its efficiency will make up for all its downsides that you can think of in relation to its size. So, if you are thinking of purchasing a new floor pump, then you might want to test the Topeak Road Morph Pump first.

In addition to that, the Topeak Road Morph Pump has in-line gauge which is built into its rubber hose. The numbers on it are easy to read. So, you will not have to have the perfect vision, and you might even no longer have to lean toward it. more info

Excellent pump. Only one I need!

I have been cycling for about five months now and this is the pump for me. I realize I haven’t tried that many different pumps, but I am incredibly happy with this pump. I am on a very strict budget (terrible for a cyclist), and as a result, this is the only pump I have. I don’t have a floor pump for a presta valve, this pump does it every time, and i have yet to complain. The price is very competitive, it looks good, the quality of construction leaves nothing for want. the only problem is that there is no manual. i had to google the pump once i got it to figure out how to use it on my friend’s schrader valve tube. still a great buy

pumps 120psi quickly and easy. I hoped it would be short enough to fit in the back of my jersey pocket but it kept falling out. The mini morph might have fit but i liked the gauge on this one. But it mounts to the frame just fine, I just had to get rid of one of my water bottles.

A ‘let’s keep going harder’ pump

I’ve tried a few frame pumps in the past, ranging from $20 – $50 and one of them from Topeak too. The magic of this pump lies in its ability to connect to the tire while leveling this on the ground to use your whole body weight. I was very skeptical when I read this could reach 100+ psi, because on the box/label of all the past hand/frame pumps I’ve tried it said the same. “Capable of reaching 120 PSI…” something to that effect, keyword there is capable.

When I first got the Road Morph G (g stands for gauge, took me a while to figure it out b/c no where on Topeak’s site does it differentiate), I tested it out on my 700×23 road tire by deflating it and pumping it back up. After about 50-60 pumps or so, as it doesn’t get very hard until it reaches 70psi on the little gauge, I can tell this pump is different. I consider myself above average strength for my weight, but it really shouldn’t matter if you use your one arm and bending your knees properly to use your body weight to push down. As other testers have said, the flip out foot stand feels very flimsy and I wouldn’t be surprised if that broke one day, however, it works very well so far. It does get considerably harder after it hits 90psi according to the hose gauge, and I kept going ’til it was between 100 and 120 on the reading, skeptical of the reading I plugged in my floor pump and it read 105psi. Wow, I was impressed.

I didn’t find the lack of instructions a set back, mainly b/c I have prior exposure to it. I can see how it would confuse most beginners, especially the part about switching b/t presta and schradder valves, seasoned veterans need not worry as it’s no different from any other pump. The mounting brackets was not as flexible as Topeak’s other pumps, as it does not offer a mount with your bottle cage (your bottle cage and the pump takes one mount, so you still get 2 bottle storage). I just used the velcro straps and mounted it on the top tube, so far, so good.

The first time I had to use this, I was about 10 miles in on a Saturday morning ride, and had a leak in my front tire. Other times before, the pumps were only good as a ‘get me home’ pump, with the Topeak Morph, it’s in a class of its own, it’s a ‘let’s keep going harder’ pump. This will be on the frame of all future road bikes I own, when I go mountain, you can count on that the mountain morph will be the top choice. Hope this helps!

I keep this pump on my road bike which originally had some cheap pump. This pump is a vast improvement. Foot peg, extending air host, long stroke, and gauge make this quality pump a great purchase.

To the person who wrote ” Some extra documentation for newbies”. Thank you so much for your help. You were very kind to post the instruction for those who would be completely amazed by the sheer stupidity of these people. Who ever did the package materials is a cretin who easily qualifies to run the next American industry into the ground. The product itself seems to work fine and easily get the job done.

Topeak Road Morph G Bike Pump with Gage
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is third pump I have purchased, as my wife and a friend each also wanted one after they see how well is works. Since one can get their upper body weight into the pumping action it makes getting from 90 to 120 PSI easier. As for my service (or should I say lack thereof) from Amazon’s customer service department that’s another matter.

    Best frame pump I’ve used
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve been riding seriously for over 20 years, have owned a half dozen frame pumps, and the Morph for about 5 years. This is the only frame pump I recommend to anyone. If you actually have to fix a flat, it takes the ugliness out of the event. Doesn’t require arm strength, since it depends on your weight instead. Doesn’t break off valve stems, since it puts no side pressure on the valve. Doesn’t require 200 pumps (like one of the mini pumps I had) to fill a tire. The only issue I have ever had is that the guage is not accurate. Mine measures about 10 psi high when it reachs the 100 psi point. Not a big deal if you know that. Its nice that it has a guage at all. I haven’t had any problems with the parts falling off, but I think I will take a close look at mine to head those potential problems off. Like I said, the only pump I have ever recommended to anyone since I got mine.

    Amazing and Durable
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this pump a little over a year ago. Since then I have used it on AT LEAST one tire a day. Many times I would go through my entire fleet and air all the tires up within the same hour. The pump gets warm, but not hot like some pumps do. This pump has held up great. My last mini pump had issues getting over 90 pounds into a tire and the foot rest broke off the first time I used it. This pump will put well over 90 pounds in and the foot rest is still as good as new. Very durable pump.

It works flawlessly on both types of valves. Takes less than 20 seconds to change to the opposite style of valve. It fits both valves snugly and securely. I keep this pump attached to my commuter at all times and it has never bounced out of its bracket. It’s light weight, so I don’t even notice it being there.

The only negative I have is that on rare occasions the pressure gauge will stick until you put another 5 pounds or so in. This is a minor inconvenience at most, so it doesn’t affect my 5 star rating.

Over all, this is an amazing pump. So amazing that I ordered 2 more today. You can’t go wrong with this pump.

The Topeak Road Morph G pump I purchased via Amazon in August 2009 is actually the second Road Morph G pump I have owned. The first lasted 5,500 miles in two years after regular usage and 30+ flats. When the first pump broke, I loved the model so much that it just seemed natural to buy a second. It’s a great frame pump, perfect for touring: light with and accurate gauge.

Plus I love Topeak’s corporate values — the company generously sponsored a cross-country bike ride that I completed in 2007.

I have not had a flat tire since I brought this pump, but I have tried it out on a spare tube and it worked ok. The gauge did not seem to work.

It is clearly shown on the back of the box how to convert to Schraeder or Presta valve and it is very simple!

    - Light

    - Powerful

    - Has hose

    - Has foot pad

    - Has gauge

    - Different mounting options

In short – everything you want from the pump. Good for MTB as well.

    bike pump
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This pump is good quality. I must admit I haven’t used it too much, only because I haven’t had any road flats (crosses fingers). I normally use a floor pump to pump my tires because it’s much easier to use.

It has a gauge on it, but it’s hard to read. Be careful when pumping the air up to the maximum psi, you may hurt yourself if not paying attention.

I read reviews about buying a road pump that has a hose, as opposed to one that connects directly to the valve because it’s hard to pump at high psi pressure while holding on the valve. I must say I will NEVER buy a direct valve pump. Listen to that review and buy a pump with a hose, you don’t want to damage your valve, and you DO want to pump the tire stress free.

    Great Portable Pump
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I actually used this on my mountain bike vs a road bike as it is advertised for. It works great and I don’t even notice it there. Personally, I didn’t feel comfortable with the CO2 type inflators and wanted a manual one for portable use. This pump fit the bill perfectly.

    Great pump
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I rode this past weekend with the new Topeak pump in my pack… 2 flats :( … but, the pump was the real silver lining of the ride — got road tires up to 100 psi (quickly too) without the floor pump (2nd flat would have been a problem with CO2)! The pump is a bit bulky and doesn’t look good on a sleek road bike frame, so I am carrying the pump in my Camelbak. But the pump just WORKS!

I already run presta valves on both road and mountain bikes, so I don’t have to fuss with flipping the pump head. The valve does “clamp” on when up rather than down — a bit different than most floor pumps, but no big deal.

Bottom line: 100 psi without a floor pump… this is a keeper.

A frame pump like a floor pump
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
Works great! Saved me when I got a flat in the hills. I had no trouble using it at all. The foot pad is definitely a plus. I did a lot of research before deciding on this frame pump.

I chose this pump for 4 reasons. The positives:

    1. It has a foot pad so you can use it like a regular floor pump. This definitely helps in pumping to 100+ psi easily. Saves you time and energy. If you have ever tried pumping your road tire to 100+ psi with just your arms and a tiny frame pump, you know what I mean.

    2. It has a gauge so you don’t need to worry about over or under inflating the tube.

    3. It has a flexible hose so you don’t have to worry about tearing out the valve.

    4. Good reviews.

    The negative:

    1. It is one of the bulkier and heavier bike pumps. It fits on my 48cm road bike downtube and I’m sure it’ll fit on the top tube too. Being on the downtube only leaves me one bottle cage holder but that has never been a problem for me. If I wanted something smaller and thinner, I’d rather just switch to CO2 cartridges.

I really recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a frame pump that works as easily as a floor pump.

Would not work with regular “Schrader” valves
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
Before use, the tip of this pump must be configured for one of 2 types of bicycle tire valves, the Presta valve or the Schrader valve. The Schrader valve is used on many ordinary, everyday bicycles and it is just like the valve on an automobile tire. Like the reviewers above, I tried to assemble the pump but ended up having to call the manufacturer’s customer service center to discover that parts were missing. The parts were sent and I assembled the pump as directed with customer service on the line. The pump is useless for Schrader valves. The metal collar of the pump tip is just narrow enough that it keeps it from fitting properly over the top of the valve stem and will not allow it to go deeply enough to push in the pin and allow air into the tire. As if that is not bad enough, it doesn’t want to let go of the valve stem either and I nearly broke both the pump and valve getting it off. Maybe it works in Presta valves, I don’t know.

    Bike Pump Works as Touted
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I purchased the Topeak Bike Pump based on other reviews. It is very compact, and works surprizingly well at pumping up the tire. The only difficulty is it is quite challenging to put the fitting on the stem. Thanks to the other reviewers who explained how to change the fitting head to fit standard stems.

    The best road pump
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This is a great pump, can easily pump tires to over 110 psi, I’ve had one for years on my commuter bike, just bought a second one.

Pros – easy to achieve high pressure, pressure gauge, well Built.

    Cons – kinda heavy

A great portable bike pump …
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this pump because I needed a light weight “pseudo” floor pump when I travel with my bikes since you can’t take CO2 cartridges on the plane and Topeak Road Morph actually worked BETTER than I had expected it would. The design is nice … fold out “T-handle”, small foot peg, and a inflation head attached to an extendable rubber hose … and allows for reasonably rapid inflation of a road or ‘cross bike tire. It is a good product … I like it a lot.
